Cruising the BVI

British Virgin Islands Flotilla

08-15 January 2007

Bay Breeze Charters out of Traverse City Michigan organized what turned out to be the perfect sailing vacation. Everything, including air travel, went without a glitch. We departed home very early on Sunday 7 January and arrived in Tortola just as the sun was setting in the BVI. We spent that evening getting familiar with the vessel and going over the charts of the area. Click on the links below to see the pictures of our trip.

Our flotilla was composed of 3 catamarans and 22 sailors, most of whom were from the Grand Traverse Yacht Club in Traverse City, Michigan. Our circuit of the islands covered over 90 miles during the 7 days. We returned to the charter base on the 13th and did some local sailing all day the 14th, spent our last evening on the boat, then departed Tortola for San Juan Puerto Rico the 15th of January. After a good night sleep in a local Hotel and a little sightseeing, we departed for home on the 16th of January.
